I have been social-distancing for the last month and have only left my house once excluding neighborhood walks with my family. MANY of my days have consisted of binge-watching random shows on Netflix or favorite childhood films on Disney+. If you have any movie or show recommendations, please share them in the comments. However, I have had a few semi-productive days, so I thought I might as well share what I’ve been up to! About once a week, when the sun is out and I feel motivated, I take batches of pictures for Instagram. Feel free to follow my bookish account @sldreads for more frequent content! Since I have been stuck at home, I have really gotten back into hand-writing mail for people. I bought a set of 100 Disney Princess Collectible Postcards and have been sending those along with some lovely animal stationary I was given for Valentine’s Day. This isn’t sponsored, but I linked the postcard set below if you want to start sending mail to friends and family. Unfortunately, I could not find a link to the animal stationary. Although my school district is closed for the rest of the year and teachers can no longer grade, I am still studying for AP exams in May! Calculus is one of my weaker subjects, so I’ve been trying to get in as many practice problems as possible. If it’s not raining, I’ll take my adorable golden doodle Teddy outside for a stroll. He has definitely made quarantine easier! Again, nothing in this post is sponsored (I don’t even know if anyone reads my blog haha), but my little sister and I have been playing Disney Villainous A TON while in quarantine. In fact, I may have spent my Christmas money on all of the expansion packs (oops). Disney Villainous is a strategy-based game where you work to help your villain achieve their goals while thwarting your opponents (other villains). There are 15 villains total (6 in the original game plus 3 in each expansion pack). My personal favorites to play with are Mother Gothel and Jafar although Maleficent is also super fun! In between walks with my dog and rounds of Villainous, I have been doing LOTS of reading. I know a lot of people have had trouble concentrating on books with everything going on, but it has actually really helped me to cope with stress over the last few weeks. I am currently rereading Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery. It was one of my childhood favorites, and I am enjoying it just as much now as I did then. It is such a lovely comfort read, and I plan on starting Anne With An E on Netflix as soon as I finish the book! To wind down at night, I either rewatch a favorite Disney movie or read some sort of YA or fantasy book. Since the start of quarantine, I have rewatched lots of Disney films including:
One of my favorite before-bed reads was Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. I know I am super late to the game but I am so glad I finally read this book. It was wonderful, and I cannot wait to get my hands on the other books in the trilogy. I hope you all are healthy and well during this pandemic. In the comments, please tell me about any good TV shows or movies you have discovered. I am always looking for something new to watch!
