Blogging on Weebly: the Pros and Cons

As you all have probably noticed, I use Weebly to manage my blog! I have noticed a large percentage of bloggers use Wordpress as their platform, and I have nothing against Wordpress. In fact, I think Wordpress is excellent for many people. However, Weebly is my choice for a few small (but important) reasons.

Why I Use Weebly

  • I can edit my blog easily from my phone. As both a high school student and a working girl, sometimes I need to manage my blog on the go! I find the Weebly mobile app performs well on my iPhone and iPad, so I can write posts, upload widgets, and more from the palm of my hand.
  • It is one of the least expensive blogging options where you can purchase your own domain. I was able to purchase my domain and continue using the free Weebly plan. I will update eventually to expand my features, but I can use my own domain without having to pay for hosting and other features.
  • There is a vast (free) support network. One of my favorite things about Weebly is the quality customer support. Wordpress users often experience difficulty receiving help with their website, but with Weebly it is as easy as making a phone call or sending an email! The best part is the quick response time of the customer support team.
  • Coding can be used to enhance website features for free. While many applications on the Weebly app store come with a price tag, users can embed code anywhere on the website to achieve different widgets or layouts. Although I do not know a lot about coding, there are thousands of resources online which can create codes which are compatible with a Weebly website.

Cons of Weebly

I definitely prefer Weebly as my blogging platform, but there are a few disadvantages when it comes to blogging.
  • There is no recent posts widget.
  • Users must subscribe to the blog via Bloglovin' or social media unless the site creator has a premium plan.

Overall

Those are the pros and cons I have discovered about using Weebly as a blogging platform. I will update the post as I uncover more advantages and/or disadvantages of Weebly. Let me know in the comments what blogging platform you use and why!

I didn't even know Weebly existed :) this is interesting. But yes, WordPress is definitely worth it for the integration of follows, although I use Bloglovin' too.
